McGhee’s Named Scotland’s Second Most Chosen Brand

McGhee’s has been recognised as one of Scotland’s favourite food brands, after being ranked second most chosen brand in the country in the Worldpanel by Numerator’s 2025 Scotland Brand Footprint report.

The annual report ranks which food and drink brands shoppers reach for most often – and this year, McGhee’s appeared as a new entrant in the top tier, sitting just behind Irn Bru and ahead of iconic Scottish names such as Graham’s, Tunnock’s and Bells.

Across all supermarket categories, McGhee’s also ranked 13th among all FMCG brands in Scotland, and third among bakery brands, sitting alongside major UK players Warburtons and Hovis.

The data shows:

  • 50.8% of Scottish households buy McGhee’s
  • The average customer chooses McGhee’s almost 11 times a year
  • Strongest growth is coming from soft white rolls, potato scones and our expanding pre-packed range

Much of this success is thanks to recent investment in new equipment and bakery expansion, which has allowed us to triple roll production and increase capacity for favourites like tarts, caramel shortcake and empire biscuits.

With our 90th anniversary fast approaching in 2026, the timing feels especially meaningful.

Aisling McGhee, Commercial Director, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised alongside iconic Scottish brands. It’s a real testament to the hard work of everyone across the bakery, and to the customers who have supported us for generations. As we approach our 90th year, we’re excited to build on this momentum both in Scotland and further afield.”

A refreshed brand look and new product developments are already underway — and we look forward to sharing more as we head into our 90th anniversary year.
