Baking Industry News
With the global rise in the price of the raw materials required in the baking industry, McGhee's have been resisting the building pressure to raise prices along with their competitors. They would like to assure customers that prices will be held for as long as possible but are concerned that in time it may prove difficult.
While the UK ground to a halt during the spell of heavy snow in December, McGhee's fleet of delivery vans were powering through the traffic to reach their customers on time.
For the delivery drivers hard work and perseverance they received many thanks and plaudits from customers such as the NHS, the Scottish Parliament, One-o-one convenience stores and George Heriotts School in Edinburgh.

McGhee's Help Create New Curry Pie!
McGhee's recently joined forces with Pars Foods, restaurant owner Satty Singh and ex-Scotland player Kenny Dalglish for the launch of a unique new snack for hungry football fans at Hampden during the Scotland - Spain clash on on Tuesday 12, the Curry Pie!
Developed in partnership by Glasgow family businesses Mister Singh's India, McGhee's Bakery and Pars Foods, the new pastry pie "contains an authentic curry recipe (chicken ambala from the Punjab region of India) supplied exclusively by Mister Singh's India and is set to challenge the humble Scotch pie as the country's favourite snack."
The "Mister Singh's Curry Pie" will be widely available at Scottish football grounds from this Saturday while the three partners behind it also hope to take it to mass market. Satty Singh, of Mister Singh's India, said: "We all wanted to create the best possible product, which is why we have chosen to use our signature dish as the filling - the feedback so far has been fantastic. Already being served at the likes of Celtic Park, Ibrox and Firhill, the curry pie is thought to have enjoyed sales of almost 10,000 in the first two months of this season.
We are proud to have had the opportunity to sponsor this year's world wide, Tiree Wave Classic wind surfing competition.
The event has been running since 1986 and has become one of the most challenging competitions around, attracting top windsurfers to Scotland from around the world.
Amidst all the excitement were a few low fat mince pies, provided by McGhees.
